Finnish Residence Permit Process For International Experts

When hiring a special expert from abroad, the employee can get a Finnish residence permit in 14 days by using the fast track. In addition, the employee can apply for a D-visa in connection with the fast track, if the person is coming from a visa-requiring country.   1. ACCOUNT. Create the account in enterfinland.fi.
  2. ATTACHMENTS. Make sure that all of the necessary attachments are included. Valid
    passport, a certificate of the key terms of the employment relationship, certificate of fringe
    benefits from the employer, job description and a diploma from a completed university
    degree are required. Employer will provide the supporting documents required from the
    employer and the key terms of employment.
  3. APPLICATION. Fill in the application for the residence permit and D-Visa via the fast track.
    Employer will receive a message when the employee has submitted the application and
    needs to fill in the terms of employment within 2 days after the employee has sent the
    application.
  4. PAYMENT. Pay the application. The cost for the residence permit is 380 € and D-visa is 95 €.
  5. IDENTIFICATION. After the payment, the employee has 5 days to proove his identity in the
    VFS Global application center or the Finnish Embassy.
  6. WAIT FOR THE DECISION. The employee and the employer will receive regular information
    about the schedule of the application.
  7. POSITIVE DECISION. After the employee receives a positive residence permit, they need to
    book an appointment with the Digital and Population Data Services Agency for the personal
    identity code. The employer will also receive a message when the decision has been made.
